GiveSI is a community day of giving for all of Southern Illinois in conjunction with the global movement: Giving Tuesday.
During this event, News 3 WSIL and SICF will be launching a 30 Hour campaign for non-profits throughout Southern Illinois.

We are a small group of 4 local women who saw an unmet need, and because we are animal lovers ourselves, formed the Friends of FCAC.
We are the Friends of FCAC (Franklin County Animal Control). We are not employees of the county. We are strictly a volunteer, nonprofit 501 (c)(3) with the intent to help offset the cost of spay/neuter of animals that are adopted from Franklin County Animal Control, and to educate the public on responsible pet ownership. The total cost to adopt from FCAC can be quite prohibitive and our goal is to help with this cost so that more animals may be adopted from our local shelter. Franklin County Animal Control is a kill facility and not a rescue. Our long term wish is to provide low cost spay/neuter to all residents of Franklin County. We are a small group of 4 local women who saw an unmet need, and because we are animal lovers ourselves, formed the Friends of FCAC. All funds go to rescue efforts. That may include: spaying/neutering, micro-chipping, transportation to no-kill shelters, shelter beds, food/water bowls, crates, adoption fees, etc. No member of this organization is ever paid for their time and effort.

The Carbondale Warming Center has been at 608 E. College St. since 12/1/19. In that time we have grown from a 12 hour warming center to a 24-7 emergency shelter in light of COVID-19. We are still here serving the needs of the unhoused in our community by providing: a warm/cool safe place to sleep, launfry, meals, snacks, interview closet, Jobs Program, and our Shelter to Home program. These programs are operated in conjunction with many other local agencies and group such as: Bethel Feed My Sheep, Carbondale Interfaith Council, All of our county rotary clubs, SIH, SIU, and many others. We are the helping part of the community for the community supported by the community. We continue to thank you for the opportunities to serve others.

The mission of the Good Samaritan Ministries Transitional House is to provide educational and rehabilitation services in a stable and healthy environment for men and women to gain life skills, education and mental health counseling needed to transition to living in the community and being financially responsible. The mission of the Good Samaritan Soup Kitchen is to provide nutritionally balanced meals, three times daily, every day of the year to residents of our Emergency Shelter, and to people in the community who are hungry. The Night's Shield provides shelter, transitional living placements, and outreach to homeless youth aged 11-23 right here in southern Illinois.

The Richard Bartolotti Scholarship has been created by his family and friends who knew an loved Richard and all he did to support his family, friends and the community.
Richard Bartolotti was a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps and was a Silver Star and Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of the UMWA, Franklin County Housing Authority Board, Christopher American Legion, Sesser VFW and a Life Member of the Disabled American Vets.

Cliff Stein Scholarship
This scholarship fund is a lasting memorial in honor of Cliff Stein, for the benefit of scholarship winners who are Senior male basketball players at Murphysboro High School.

These scholarships are given in memory of Dr. Darren W. Haney, who served as the ESL Coordinator for the Murphysboro School District for three years {2017-2020), where he taught ESL at the high school as well as at the elementary and middle schools.

Darren often spoke of his time teaching in Murphysboro as the happiest time of his life, and of his great affection for his students and fellow faculty members. Darren attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he studied Spanish and Classics and the University of Wisconsin where he received his PhD in historical Spanish linguistics. He was a passionate and dedicated teacher who cared immensely about his students, both inside and outside the classroom. Darren was a caring and generous soul. He was always willing and eager to respond when he saw someone in need. Darren was a talented musician as well, and played guitar, banjo and pedal steel; he was a prolific songwriter who was also a skillful and soulful vocalist. He often played open performing an eclectic mix of jazz, old country and Spanish/Portuguese favorites. He was a friend of the Carbondale Unitarian Fellowship where he often sang in the choir and played with the Unitarian Folk Orchestra.

In memory of Michael "Mikey B" Barnd we are creating a fund to sponsor youth sports in Carterville (home of Mikey B's Bleacher Bum Collectibles) and hopefully into Herrin where Mikey B lived.
Through this fund we hope to communicate with everyone that shared the love of collecting and visiting Mikey B's. We would love for you to share your stories and memories and ideas on how we can continue his legacy. The goal of the fund is to be able to sponsor teams in all sports from Caterville and Herrin (maybe some day spread his love further to Carbondale where he attended SIU and first started in the card business), provide sports equipment to players that need assistance, and maybe someday a scholarship to local athletes.

Gene Alexander (Mr. A) is a fixture in Benton and in all of Southern Illinois. Mr. A is a retired school administrator/teacher who has tireless given back to many organizations, schools, churches, and individuals.

Mr. A loves education. He helps the Benton Public Library, assists local teachers, and donates thousands of dollars each year to help fund scholarships for local students. The Mr. A Fund Committee is working to provide Mr. A with the recognition he deserves, while also ensuring students will be awarded scholarships in his name in perpetuity.​

Helping Veterans Get The Support and Service They Need
Welcome to Down the Leash Service Dogs. We are a veteran run nonprofit organization helping veterans in the southern Illinois area. We provide a safe environment for our nation's heroes, teaching them basic and advanced dog handling skills for their own service dogs.

The core mission of Haven House is rooted in providing a haven for veterans who find themselves without a safe and secure residence. Dedicated to supporting homeless veterans in there transition to stability.
Through a home style family type living community, the organization fosters an environment of camaraderie and support, providing veterans with the dignity and reset they deserve. Central to its mission is the commitment to ensuring access to appropriate medical care and treatment, recognizing the holistic needs beyond mere housing. By offering a safe and nurturing space, Haven House endeavors to empower veterans on there journey toward reclaiming stability, independence, and a renewed sense of belonging within there community.

We try to lay a wreath on as many veterans graves as we can. This is in December each year.

Your support will directly fund sets, props, and costumes for the Veteran written musical "Standard Issue" which is written and produced locally in Southern Illinois. The production will be June 6-8, 2025 at the Marion Cultural & Civic Center.

The Fowler Bonan Foundation's primary mission is to provide clothing and shoes to low income children through the Clothes for SI Kids initiative and to provide hot meals
The Fowler Bonan Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, incorporated in the state of Illinois, whose primary mission is to provide clothing and shoes to low income children through the Clothes for SI Kids initiative and to provide hot meals to those in need through the Heaven's Kitchen program. The Foundation also assists, on a limited basis, families suffering temporary hardship due to disasters, such as fire or illness, as well as other youth-related charitable endeavors. Our activities are presently conducted throughout Southern Illinois, with Heaven's Kitchen operating in Harrisburg and Marion. In 2023 alone over 600 kids and individuals were provided with full and partial wardrobes and over 14,000 meals were served.

The FWCAC is dedicated to serving the best interests of children who have been sexually or physically abused.
The FWCAC is dedicated to serving the best interests of children who have been sexually or physically abused. We provide forensic interviews, advocacy, medical evaluation referrals, and therapy to child victims of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, and child witnesses to homicides and other violent crimes. Services are available to the child for as long as needed and free of charge. CACs are the only organization in Southern Illinois that provide support to the child victim from the outcry of abuse until the end of the criminal trial.

At NubAbility, we change lives by showing limb-different kids they can.
At NubAbility, we change lives by showing limb-different kids they can. Our organization provides limb-different children with limb-different coaches who instruct and inspire, giving them confidence to succeed in sports and in life. Since our first camp in 2012, we have served more than 2,000 children at more than 70 camps across the United States. Our largest camp, which brings 135 limb-different children and their families and 80 limb-different coaches to Southern Illinois, is held in Du Quoin, IL each July.

The Read SI program is a partnership between agencies in Southern Illinois, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and the State of Illinois that mails a new book every month to registered children from birth to 5 years old.
The partnership includes over 20 agencies, individuals, and programs from across southern Illinois and is facilitated by the Southern Illinois Coalition for Children and Families, the Southern Illinois Community Foundation and the Walker Borum Foundation. Regional participation in the Imagination Library is made possible only through the generous contributions of community and corporate donations and sponsorships, along with an investment by the state of Illinois which covers half of the cost for each child enrolled.

The CEO program is much more than a textbook course. Rather, students are immersed in real life learning experiences with the opportunity to take risks, manage the results, and learn from the outcomes.
